Optibrium is a small technology company dedicated to providing software to guide decisions involving complex, uncertain data in an intuitive way. Our primary product, StarDrop, is focussed on the pharmaceutical industry, helping scientists to guide decisions in the design and selection of potential drug molecules.
Optibrium was recently founded as a spin-out of BioFocus DPI and is based in Cambridge, UK, with a global customer base ranging from top-10 pharmaceutical companies to small biotechs and academic groups.

Mathematical Modeller
We are looking for a talented mathematical modeller to join our R&D team developing our innovative scientific software platform. As well as researching and applying new algorithms to challenging problems in drug discovery, you will work with our product development team to turn these into practical solutions for our customers. You will also help to support our industry-leading clients around the world and there will be opportunities to publish results in research journals and present at international conferences.
Our ideal candidate is an innovative team player with a strong mathematical background and, ideally, experience in Bayesian inference, machine learning algorithms and statistical techniques. The successful candidate will be flexible, motivated and adopt a problem-solving approach; they will be a graduate in mathematics or relevant scientific discipline and will ideally hold a post-graduate qualification. Experience in computational implementation of numerical algorithms is essential and a background in the drug discovery industry or computational chemistry will be beneficial.
